About the artist:

Saskia Widdison aka Justsasko (Freilassing, 1996,-)

Born in Bavaria, in a small town where the Salzach draws a loop, the artist moved to Erfurt (Thuringia) two years ago and began to work increasingly with oil paints. Fascinated by female artists of the late 19th and early 20th century, she taught herself to paint. Mostly expresses herself through richly colored oil portraits that convey lightness and sensitivity toward the subject. Focussing on displaying predominantly strong female characters that her „young self“ could look up to. Often in contrast to expressive foliage. Color and Light play an important role in her art.

Shortly after finishing her studies at a technical university she started to dabble increasingly in street art and fell in love with the process of translating her art onto big walls. Practicing at an open wall in her neighborhood she got to know the local art community which helped her grow as an artist. This year she showcased her art in her first solo-exhibition at the Kurhaus Simone and recently opened her studio in Erfurt.
